Meet Dr. Richard Kennedy
Dr. Richard W. Kennedy is our resident expert in pediatric dentistry. A certified D.M.D. since 1978, Dr. Kennedy has been helping families learn how to care for their children’s teeth for 35 years.
A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Dr. Kennedy began his dental career at Westminster College in Missouri. There, he majored in Biology, studying the roots of dental care. Later, he studied at the University of Louisville Dental School where he graduated from in 1978.
Upon graduation, Dr. Kennedy returned to his home state to serve the community he grew up in and loved. Essentially, he felt he was coming home to take care of ‘family’ and friends. He invested his heart and life into his work at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
He subsequently completed his residency at CHMC in 1980. Later in that same year, he opened up his first private practice in Fairfield, Ohio. He finally felt at home and began to serve the community he felt connected to and knew so well. Currently, in addition to his thriving pediatric dentistry practice, Dr. Kennedy serves on staff at Children’s Hospital, where he performs outpatient dental surgeries.
Along the way, Dr. Kennedy served as the president of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital and he has also been the president of the Keeley Dental Society. Presently, he is an honored Diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the Butler County Keeley Dental Society in Goshen, Ohio.
In his private pediatric dental practice, Dr. Kennedy and his friendly staff provide dental care to the younger members of his ‘family’, utilizing the latest information, technology and tools. When Dr. Kennedy isn’t fighting “tooth bugs”, he hits the ice, playing and coaching hockey.
